Citroën Sponsors "Electric Odyssey" - a Citroën C0 Travels Across -- The USA?!
Citroën is sponsoring an attempt to drive a production electric car around the world. This included a 3700 mile trek across the USA in a Citroën C0. So how can they bring a new Citroën into the US? Don't the photos of a C0 driving trough New York City show that all of my whining and complaining about unfair import laws is just a bunch of -- well -- cynicism?
No. -- if you read the laws, you'll see that you can temporarily bring a car into the US "for research, investigation, demonstrations or training, or competitive racing events.", and you still need the HTHSA's approval.
In this case it looks like the car was in the US for 72 days -- which seems to be quite a long time for a NY to CA drive!
